Great Hollow Middle School Hosts Cancer Fundraiser

Great Hollow Middle School (Smithtown Schools) raised more than $2,000 in the fight against cancer in its Great Hollow vs. Cancer event.

The event, organized by Great Hollow Middle School field hockey coach Colleen McKillop, featured a day for the school teams to host a game, and students and faculty are invited to watch them participate in various after-school sports.

The football, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and field hockey teams all participated in this great cause.

The Great Hollow kickline and cheerleading teams also performed.

Donations came from students, teachers, staff, and parents and will be sent to the nonprofit organization Corey’s Promise.

During this outstanding achievement, he was surrounded by his teammates, parents, coaches, and fans.

Ward Melville Girls Soccer On Historic Run

Imagine not losing a match in nearly 1,100 days. That’s the situation for Ward Melville girl’s soccer right now.

After another undefeated regular season – 14-0-1 – they are 50-0-7 since the 2022 season. They have won two state titles during that stretch.

They recently bested Nassau County’s South Side High School’s streak of 56 games from 1999-2002 to close out the regular season.

The Patriots will look to add to their historic run this week as the Section XI girl’s playoffs kick off.
