Ward Melville Girls Soccer On Historic Run
Imagine not losing a match in nearly 1,100 days. That’s the situation for Ward Melville girl’s soccer right now.
After another undefeated regular season – 14-0-1 – they are 50-0-7 since the 2022 season. They have won two state titles during that stretch.
They recently bested Nassau County’s South Side High School’s streak of 56 games from 1999-2002 to close out the regular season.
The Patriots will look to add to their historic run this week as the Section XI girl’s playoffs kick off.

Longwood Hosts Pro Soccer Alum During Summer Workouts
Longwood’s girls’ varsity and JV soccer teams recently hosted Phallon Tullis-Joyce, a 2014 Longwood alum and now the goaltender of the Manchester United Women’s soccer team.
Phallon shared her expertise and trained with the team, inspiring everyone with her skill and dedication.
She played college soccer for the Miami Hurricanes and professionally for French Division 1 Féminine club Reims and OL Reign of the National Women’s Soccer League.
Section XI Officials at State Championships
We love to see our Section XI officials working the highest-level tournaments and championships in the state.
This past weekend at the soccer championships, we saw Chris Muhs (with ball) as the head official and Juan Solozano as an official in the Class A girls’ semifinal game.
