Kathy Masterson Named Section XI Athletic Director of the Year

East Hampton Athletic Director Kathy Masterson has been named Section XI Athletic Director of the Year.

Masterson, who spent the bulk of her career as the AD at Westhampton, started her tenure in East Hampton in 2022.

“Winning this award is so humbling,” she said. “I am so honored to be a part of a profession that I love, and that means the world to me.”

The photo used with this post speaks volumes to Masterson’s character and devotion to the student-athletes she works with daily. She is accessible, and innovative and immerses herself in the school community to impact the lives of athletes, coaches and staff.

East Islip, John Glenn Represent Section XI at NYS Dual Meet Championships

East Islip and John Glenn qualified for the New York State Dual Meet Championship held in Syracuse at the SRC Arena last weekend.

After losing a close match to Ballston Spa in the first round, East Islip rebounded with a big victory over Hilton from Section V. They advanced to the state semifinals due to criteria that put them ahead of their previous opponents, but they lost to Minisink Valley.

John Glenn had a first-round bye and beat Saranac (VIII), 57-14, in the second round. The Knights lost to Canisteo-Greenwood (V), 36-32, in the third round.
