Twenty-four former Section XI athletes will play in the Division III National Championship for Cortland this weekend.
The Red Dragons will travel to Salem Stadium to play undefeated North Central College in the Stagg Bowl.
North Babylon’s bowler freshman bowler Nick Vuono beat the New York State high school series record with an 867. This also tied the nationwide high school series record. Congratulations, Nick!

Since Section XI’s headquarters are located at the Town of Brookhaven offices, we’re taking part in their holiday toy drive.
You can donate a new unwrapped toy at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville until December 15.

The Sayville Boys Soccer team gathered items and funds to acquire essentials for crafting “Blessing Bags” intended for homeless and displaced teenagers.
The team also accumulated non-perishable items, all earmarked for donations to Hope for Youth and the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.
The annual Suffolk County Football Coaches Association dinner put a cherry on top of an exciting 2023 football season.
East Islip’s Sebastian Regis won big as he was awarded the Carl A. Hansen Award as the top football player in Suffolk County. He’s the first lineman to earn the honor in 38 years. He also took home the Rob Burnett Award as the top defensive player and the Zellner Award as the top lineman.
Bayport-Blue Point, which finished 12-0 and won a Long Island championship, was honored with the Rutgers Trophy as the top team in the county.
