The NYSPHSAA had its inaugural Girls Flag Football State Tournament and Championship this month.
Two officials represented Section XI in the Tournament: Marc A. Negrin Sr. (White Hat) and Bill Moran (Linesman).

This year’s Scope Student-Athlete honorees are Sebastian Regis from East Islip and Ava Blasi from Hills West. Regis is with East Islip AD Steve Restivo, and Blasi is with Hills AD Deb Ferry. Scope is represented by George Duffy, John Timely, and Mike O’Brien.

The NYSPHSAA announces its Spring 2024 Scholar-Athlete teams and number of Scholar-Athlete individuals per team and there are several from Section XI school.
For Spring 2024, NYSPHSAA recognized 3,049 Scholar-Athlete teams. Additionally, 47,211 students received individual scholar-athlete recognition by earning an individual average of 90 or above for the spring season, whether their team qualified or not.

Congratulations to Half Hollow Hills West senior, Bryan Volk, for being recognized as the Section XI Sportsmanship recipient, at the NYSPHSAA State Championship for boys tennis.
Bryan won his 1st match this morning and will play again this afternoon!
Congratulations to legendary Northport lacrosse coaches Carol Rose and Al Rose on reaching 500 career wins during the Tigers’ playoff run!
Due to the forecast for tomorrow, Monday, May 27, we have decided to move the Softball finals scheduled for tomorrow to Tuesday, May 28, at 4 p.m., Martha Avenue Field 1.
