The latest Section XI – Island Federal Student-Athlete Nominees …
First, we have a high flying gymnast from Connetquot, Alexandra Melchiona. Alexandra excels in the classroom with a 101.7 weighed GPA. When she’s taking a break from winning county championships, she’s active in the National Honor Society and several other honor associations. She gives back to her community through her work as a tutor and with the Dezy Strong Foundation.
Next up is Grace Jos. Grace is a leader on the Comsewogue cross country team with her academic accomplishments even more impressive than her blazing times on the course. She proudly holds a 104 weighted GPA and challenges herself with several AP classes. During the summer, she works at a local camp for children with special needs & disabilities.
Both of our nominees are exceptional student-athletes and will be finalist for the Section XI-Island Federal Scholarships to be awarded in May of 2023.
