Section XI Flag Football Playoffs Underway
The Section XI girl’s flag football playoffs are underway and more games are scheduled for Friday night.
Defending champion Half Hollow Hills earned the top seed in Class A, while Sayville is the top seed in Class B.

Port Jefferson’s Kyle Erickson Throws No-Hitter
Port Jefferson senior pitcher Kyle Erickson threw a no-hitter and recorded nine strikeouts in 10-0 over Amityville in April. Congrats on the milestone, Kyle!
Bay Shore Turf Named in Honor of Allison & John Pfeffer
The turf two field at Bay Shore High School was recently named in honor of former Marauder coaches Allison & John Pfeffer.
“They were more than coaches… they were great role models for so many athletes! #ItsAShoreThing”
Allison and John were longtime coaches at Bay Shore across multiple sports. They were inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame in 2022.
Whitman’s Jaden Grose Throws No-Hitter vs. Pat-Med
Whitman sophomore Jaden Grose pitched a no-hitter in a 6-0 win over Pat-Med in April.
Grose had 14 strikeouts and two walks in the victory.
Deb Ferry Voted NYSPHSAA Officer
Half Hollow Hills Athletic Director Debra Ferry was approved as the next NYSPHSAA Officer, with a tenure of September 1, 2024 – August 31, 2032.
