Congratulations to legendary Northport lacrosse coaches Carol Rose and Al Rose on reaching 500 career wins during the Tigers’ playoff run!

Due to scoreboard issues, Section XI is moving the boys’ lacrosse games from Longwood to East Islip for Wednesday’s Long Island Championship events. Same times, 4 and 6:30 p.m., respectively.

Due to the forecast for tomorrow, Monday, May 27, we have decided to move the Softball finals scheduled for tomorrow to Tuesday, May 28, at 4 p.m., Martha Avenue Field 1.
Miller Place Baseball held a field naming ceremony in honor of longtime coach and athletic director Don Pranzo.
He coached the baseball program for 20 years, amassing 259 victories, 7 league titles, 2 county titles, and 1 Long Island Championship.
Pranzo began his career in Miller Place in 1955 and became the first athletic director in district history in 1969.

Right before its playoff run, the Ward Melville boys lacrosse program visited the Stony Brook Veteran’s home and donated $1,000 to help the facility.
“Truly a humbling experience,” said Ward Melville head coach Jay Negus. “Thank you for your service gentleman. Ward Melville Lacrosse appreciates you!”
